Welcome to You & Me & ADHD! I am beyond excited that you found us - you're amazing! (We're not an easy stop to make, you know, with that left turn at Albuquerque, as someone once gnawed). This is our blog and podcast about my journey as a divorced mom of four learning just now, in my 40s in the midst of graduate school, two teenagers, a pretty packed schedule and a complicated life, that not only do two of my kids (13, 10) have ADHD, but that I do, too. Gamechanger. Now, knowing what I know, I'm a mom on a mission (actually I'm a mom with ADD on a mission - even more effective and far more likely to grocery shop in her jammie pants) committed to helping move my kiddos beyond the self-doubt, confusion, and judgment I experienced as a kid with undiagnosed ADD, and instead empowering them to thrive with their newly named superpower. In this podcast we unpack and de-stigmatize ADD/ADHD, exploring the myriad gifts of the style, explore adjustments and accomodations to create more supportive educational environments for kids experiences ADD/ADHD, and empower our young people and ourselves to be free to embrace our ADD/ADHD style as a superpower the world loves and needs. So join us for our semi-daily, possibly weekly, sometimes brief, sometimes decidedly verbose podcast (perfect to have in the background as you multitask the urgency of Cow Hop) and get the straight skinny on the gifts of Achievers, Dreamers, Hope-rs & Doers (my ADHD acronym breakdown) to learn why your/your child/loved one's way of being is a superpower, and how to build an environment and habits that empower them tonavigate our one-second world and thrive!

(Said by attentive lady in fine clothes stage left of Telly Savales) anyway... come along in search of the rainbow connection to one author’s rather interesting reasoning on ADHD and (thankfully) some redeeming and helpful behavioral strategies for treating the same - it’ll bring out the lover and the dreamer in you! Thanks for listening!!

That was hilarious… I went to type in a description through dictation but my keyboard was set to Spanish so apologies out there to my Latinx speakers for not having the courage to just press save. In Episode 2 Bee bravely leads Sarah through a fascinating discussion covering a range of topics including traditional school curriculum, the need for more mental health in schools, the Chamaeleon like nature of some folks with ADHD, and the whereabouts of a certain dog. Our agreed-upon topic was time blindness which we celebrated beautifully by immediately getting fascinated by other topics and extending our time more than 25 minutes beyond our setpoint! Isn’t it delightful getting to experience the inner workings of two versions of an ADHD mind in real time… Actually twice the time! Thanks for joining us once again – enjoy!

Daughter-Mother and dog launch their authentic, none-too-artfully scripted podcast about their newly realized diagnoses of ADHD. Starring Sarah, Tootsie, and Bee (For legal reasons aged -redacted-, 4, and 13). In our first episode, we do anything but stay on topic, with more of a spiel of subconscious occasionally interrupted by useful information. We also welcome our first and only listener - Hi Tim! What’s popping? (That was humor). Join us as our unfiltered trio (what til you hear the dog - we are talking un. Cut.) explores and navigates the world through the lens of ADHD. We will talk challenges, share strategies, and most of all spotlight powerful ADHD strengths and continue the work of de-stigmatizing ADHD so everyone experiencing this neurological difference can find community, support, and get the help they need to thrive.
